Mayoral candidate Matt Marchand has vowed to create a $50-million “community livability fund” for activities and amenities across Windsor if elected.
“From our discussions in the community, there is strong feeling we are behind in quality-of-life assets,” he said on Monday.
“This is opportunity to close that gap.”
The plan would see the special fund allocated over 10 years in the budget with the sole intent to help make the city a more attractive place to live, Marchand said. Suggestions for uses of the fund would come from community consultation and be subject to approval from council.
